  1. Which are Tigre Tourist Board office hours? Is it open daily?
    Tigre Tourist Board has two offices. One is located in the Boat Terminal, 305 Mitre
    Street, and is daily open from 9:00 to 17:00. The other office is located in TBA Tigre Train Station and opens from Friday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00.
  2. Does the Tourist Board make any kind of reservations?
    No, we only provide information about different tourist options in the area whether to spend the day or an overnight.
  3. Where can I buy hand crafts and local produce?
    Puerto de Frutos is an open air market where you can buy crafts made of wicker, cane and wood, or local produce such as jellies, preserves and liquors.
  4. When is Puerto de Frutos open?
    It is daily open from (including public holidays), from 10:00 to 19:00. Some stores open from Wednesday through Sunday. For more information about the Market, please click here Puerto de Frutos
  5. Are there picnic areas at the Fruit Market?
    No, there aren't.
  6. Can I stay in the Tigre Hotel?
    No, the Tigre Hotel was demolished in 1940. Tigre offers different accommodation options, for more information about them, please click here
  7. Does the casino offer accommodation?
    No, it only provides entretainment and dining options.
  8. Is the amusement park open every day?
    The Parque de la Costa opens on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, except during local summer and winter holidays when it is open every day.
  9. Where can I exchange foreign currency?
    In Tigre City, on Bourdieu Street near Tigre Train Station and the Boat Terminal , there is a currency exchange office and several banks on Cazón Avenue with 24 hour automatic teller machines (A.T.M.).
  10. If I'm heading off to the Delta, where can I park the car?
    There are several parking lots in the surroundings of the Boat Terminal, with rates per hour, day or per week.
  11. Where do I catch the public boat services?
    Public boats depart daily from the Boat Terminal located on 305 Mitre Street.
  12. At what age do kids pay the public boat ticket?
    At 6 years old they already pay the adult fare.
  13. Is it necessary to book tickets for the regular public boat service?
    It is not necessary; tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices in the Boat Terminal, right at the departure time. We suggest to reconfirm previously the departure of the boat you need to take, by phone with the boat company. If you wish to know the different routes of each company, please click here
  14. Can I get off the boat and on again as many times as I want?
    No, if you want to stop in different places along the same route, you would be required to pay a transit fee on board each time you want to get off the boat.
  15. Can I bring pets on board?
    If it has a regular small size, you can bring your pet in a basket with you; if it has a larger size, it is required to travel on top (roof) with the luggage.
  16. Can I take the public boat service and remain on board as an excursion?
    This is posible in specific departure times, where you would stay on board, for approximately 3 or 4 hours, depending on how many users take the service.   17. Does the catamaran have the same trip of the public boat service? Can I combine these two means of transport?
    No, the catamaran excursions are non stop sightseeing tours. On the other hand, the public boat services work exactly like bus lines in the city, allowing passengers to get off at specific spots in the Delta.
  18. Can I bring my own food on board of the catamarán? And in the public boats?
    You cannot bring food on board of the catamarans but they provide dining on board. On board of the public boats you can bring a snack with you as there are no dining facilities (tables, etc).
  19. Are there public camping areas in the Delta?
    No. There are recreational sites recreational sites where you can access by paying an entrance fee. They offer sporting facilities, open air barbecue facilities, tables and benches, restrooms with showers and changing rooms, etc. No.
  20. Are there public areas in the Delta where I can walk ?

  21. At what time is the last public boat to go to the Delta or return from the Delta?
    Depending on the route and the company, there are boat services until 19:00hs approximately. There is no service at night.
  22. If I miss the last boat service, how can I get to my final destination?
    You can take taxi boats , which work exactly like taxis in the cities, arranging the time and meeting point by phone.
  23. Can I go paddling, kayaking or rowing if I don't belong to any rowing club or sporting association?
    You can go on guided kayak or rowing boat trips of different duration. For more information, please clik here .
  24. Until what time do the trains run?
    The last train service of TBA (Mitre Line) departs from Tigre around midnight everyday. The last train service of Tren de la Costa departs from Tigre around 22:00hs during the week and at midnight during the weekends.
  25. Does the Tren de la Costa take me straight to Retiro Station, in Buenos Aires?
    No, the last train station of Tren de la Costa is Maipú, in Olivos City and there you must connect with Mitre Line onto Retiro.
  26. Can I get to Uruguay from Tigre?
    Yes, you can travel with Cacciola Company company which offers daily boat services to Carmelo, and Líneas Delta boat company which offers daily boat services to Nueva Palmira. Upon arrival you can take a regular bus service on to any other destination in Uruguay.
  27. How do I get to Martín Garcia Island?
    Cacciola Company offers the only regular boat service to Martin Garcia Island. The island can also be reached by private two or four seater planes from the local airport of Benavidez.
